Thistle Hill Falcon….

20130416_24….is four-and-a-half months old now.  He’s one of the pure, traditional English Devon.  Sire, of course, is Millennium Falcon…the dam Goldings Snowdrop.

If you’re wondering where the rest of the herd is:  about a quarter of a mile and two electric fences away.  Yes, I do think he’s making a statement.  It’s not the first time we’ve noticed that a really good animal prefers to be somewhat removed from the herd.  The British class system is alive and well at Thistle Hill.

Good ‘doers’ are, by their very nature, bound to seek out a bit of what they fancy. Maybe you’ve fenced off (for another day) a nice patch of herbs… the grass is always greener on the otherside! Don’t worry though, when he’s working age, he’ll never leave his cows – unless he’s caught them all in calf & there’s a lovely bunch of maiden heifers next door… If he thinks he’s superior, it’s only what you’ve brought him to!
