Lift a glass….

….to Philip Carter Winery.  Well, at the winery.

The Hume, Virginia vineyards is hosting a “welcome Springtime” party tomorrow, May 17th, from noon to 7.  And the day of fine wine, good music and special foods is made even more special with the featured attraction:  12 local farmers have been invited to set up tents and highlight their products.

We’re honored to be one of the “lucky dozen” and it was a close call.  We’ve been out of meat since last Fall but we arranged a quick harvest of one of our animals and Blue Ridge Butchers got us some hamburger right at deadline.  So whether you’re an old customer…or want to make some new friends….and sample tasty and healthful grass fed meat…we invite you to come by.

We’ll be having a drawing for $100 of Thistle Hill beef and pork at our tent.

Philip Carter Winery is on Leeds Manor Road (Route 688) just a mile or so north of Hume.  Look for our tent smack in the middle….with the red “Thistle Hill” sign.  As a Springtime special, we’ve sale-priced our burger at just $4 a pound….buy five and you get the sixth free!  With Memorial Day, graduation parties, and other grilling events coming up….this is the perfect chance to stock your freezer.

Me, I plan to stock my Cave with Philip Carter wines.  Okay, I don’t have a Cave but I do have a shelf with some empty slots!  Now here’s more on the event:
