{"id":425,"date":"2012-01-26T12:14:12","date_gmt":"2012-01-26T17:14:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thistlehill.net\/wpblog\/?p=425"},"modified":"2012-01-26T12:16:04","modified_gmt":"2012-01-26T17:16:04","slug":"this-little-pig","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thistlehill.net\/wpblog\/this-little-pig\/","title":{"rendered":"This little pig&#8230;."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;had come all the way home, and with her sister and brothers.\u00a0 But not before a Great Pig Adventure!<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thistlehill.net\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/20120125_281.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-426\" title=\"20120125_28\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thistlehill.net\/wpblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/20120125_281-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 We had purchased the four piglets Monday, at Cathy Cochran&#8217;s Oak Hill Farm, a trip of about 75 miles.\u00a0 Wednesday, there was a knock at the door and the news that four piglets were out on Route 647, heading east.<\/p>\n<p>We jumped in the Gator but the fugitives had turned the corner at Tapps Ford Road and disappeared into the woods.\u00a0 There was no way to find them and even less chance of catching them.\u00a0 So we returned home, put some food in their pen and left the gate open.\u00a0 But we were pretty sure they had traveled in an arc of close to a mile&#8230;that it was all strange territory&#8230;and dark&#8230;and so we resigned ourselves to the loss.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, like all nursery rhymes, (well, not all, of course), this story has a happy ending.\u00a0 At dawn, I did a routine pass by the pig pen.\u00a0 And there they were, content to be home&#8230;.not interested in fleeing out either open gate.\u00a0 And we marveled at the sense of direction of truly tiny piglets and congratulated ourselves not only on putting up our new sign, but choosing pigs who could read!<\/p>\n<p>PS:\u00a0 and yes, this means that the senior pigs have been shipped to market and pork will finally be available next week.\u00a0 Our regular customers will be notified by email when it&#8217;s ready.\u00a0 If you&#8217;d like to be on the mailing list, just drop an email to <a href=\"mailto:info@thistlehill.net\">info@thistlehill.net<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;had come all the way home, and with her sister and brothers.\u00a0 But not before a Great Pig Adventure!\u00a0 We had purchased the four piglets Monday, at Cathy Cochran&#8217;s Oak Hill Farm, a trip of about 75 miles.\u00a0 Wednesday, there was a knock at the door and the news that four piglets were out on Route 647, heading east.
