\"photo\"<\/a>….our\u00a0 Traditional Devon<\/em>\u2122 bull “Churchill<\/em>” has been transferred from Thistle Hill in Virginia to our partners, Bill and Nancy Walker’s farm, in Anderson, South Carolina.\u00a0 Churchill’s<\/em> first calves are\u00a0on the ground\u00a0here….and the Walkers will be trying him out during the next breeding season.<\/p>\n

From South Carolina, we dipped down into Georgia and picked up some Traditional Devon<\/em>\u2122 from Doyle Unruh’s recip herd.\u00a0 We \"20141015_65\"<\/a>brought back three calves along with two 2-year old bulls raised at Century Farms plus Wellington<\/em>, Churchill’s<\/em> full-brother.\u00a0 Doyle is on the left and our friend, Glen Covington, who volunteered again to make the trip with me.\u00a0 Bill Walker is on the far left if you click on the picture.<\/p>\n

It made for quite a load, not\u00a0 made any easier while we were sitting in a 45-minute traffic jam and the trucker in the next lane told us the delay was caused by an overturned cattle truck.\u00a0 By the time we finally made it to the accident scene, the mess had been totally cleared.<\/p>\n

And finally, the three new calves, now safely on Thistle Hill’s pastures (and de-horned).\u00a0 Here they’re taking a final look at South Carolina before boarding the trailer.\u00a0 From left to right:\u00a0 a Cashtiller<\/em> heifer by Jaunty<\/em>, and two Falcon<\/em> bull calves:\u00a0 out of Norah<\/em> in the middle and Snowdrop<\/em> on the right.<\/p>\n
