Sounds good in Washington.\u00a0 And in the Big Food board rooms.<\/p>\n

So the FDA is going to crack down on—who else—small farmers.\u00a0 The idea is we should all disinfect our produce and pack it in plastic.\u00a0 Okay, so there’s a big recall underway right now for vegetables that Big Food packed just that way.\u00a0 But nothing’s perfect.<\/p>\n

Small farmers, of course, can’t afford to buy the machinery to market food that way.\u00a0 And intelligent consumers are smart enough to know they don’t want it that way.\u00a0 The last thing they want is another chemical (not to mention plastic) on their veggies.<\/p>\n

But the feds….right up to the guy closest to the President at the White House….are going to see to it that in a few years, farmers markets will be put out of business.\u00a0 CSAs, etc, too.\u00a0 Oh, did I mention that the guy at the White House, the main guy charged with protecting your food, just happens to be an executive from Monsanto.\u00a0 (I should say “former” but have you heard of “revolving doors”?)<\/p>\n
